Newsletter - 11/19/23

Greetings, TSES Families!

As we head into the week of Thanksgiving, I'd like to take a moment to express my gratitude for your support.  It was amazing to see so many families last week during American Education Week.  Our students loved seeing you during the school day at lunch and in their math classes.  Our math parent workshops were well attended, and we are thankful for your engagement. 

Please note that Monday, 11/20, and Tuesday, 11/21, are half days with dismissal at 12:15.  There will be no BRIDGES or ELA tutoring on either day.  Schools are closed for students on Wednesday, 11/22.  

Our teachers are looking forward to celebrating your student's progress during conferences on Monday, 11/20 (in person) and Tuesday, 11/21 (virtually).  Please call our front office at 410-313-6915 if you have problems logging in to a conference on Tuesday, 11/21.

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful and Thanksgiving.  We will see our students back at school on Monday, November 27.

Book Fair Information

The Book Fair will be open for student purchases during the school day on Monday and Tuesday, 11/20 and 11/21. The fair will also be open Monday ONLY from 1:00-7:00 pm. 

Ways to purchase books:

-Send your student with their wish list and cash/check to TSES/ewallet (use the link below)

-Shop online

-Shop in person on Monday, 11/21 between 1:00 and 7:00pm

If you set up an ewallet for your child, please print the wallet or email penny_freer@hcpsss.org  so we make sure they shop the fair!

Picture Re-Take Day

Fall picture re-take day will be on December 7. See flier for details. 

Young Authors Contest

The Howard County Literacy Association invites students in grades 1-5 to submit their original poems and/or short stories to the annual writing contest called The Young Authors' Contest. Please see the Young Authors’ Contest Guidelines for information about the rules and guidelines. All entries must have a completed YAC Cover Sheet sent as a PDF. Submissions may be emailed to Erika_Kennedy@hcpss.org by December 11, 2023. Contact Erika Kennedy with any questions. All Young Authors’ Contest information can be found on the HCLA website.
