Hearing and Vision Screenings

Hello Parents!

Please read letter regarding your PreK, K, and/or 1st grade students upcoming hearing and vision screening at TSES on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. The rescreen is scheduled for Thursday, October 12, 2023. If your child wears glasses, please remember to send them to school on that day. If your child fails their hearing and/or vision screening, they will receive a referral form that will be sent home after the rescreen 10/12/23. Please note that if your child passes both the hearing and vision screening, you will not receive any referral form/notification.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the health room at 410-313-6918.

Bicycle Collection

Our 2023 Campaign officially begins with our fourth annual Collection Day on September 30, when we will be accepting bikes from 9 AM to 2 PM at every Howard County Fire Station.  Since 2019, we have refurbished and given away 6,338 bicycles to children in need, and this year we hope to give away 3,000 more!
We can use bikes in any condition, and in any size from preschool through high school, and especially larger kids and adult bikes for middle and high school students. We'll do everything in our power to refurbish them and give them away with new helmets to local children in need, and if we can't fix them we'll take all the useable parts from them and recycle the rest appropriately.

We could still use volunteers Saturday at our warehouse, which is iat 8301 Patuxent Range Road in Jessup, to help unload, sort, and move bikes.  We also need a couple more fire stations staffed-- If you are interested in staffing a Fire Station collection point between 9:00 and 2:30, on Saturday, email me and I'll give you the details.

Starting Monday, we'll be cleaning and refurbishing all the bikes in three hour shifts: 2:30-5:30 PM Monday through Saturday with additional opportunities 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM Saturdays and 5:30 - 8:30 PM Wednesday evenings. Groups are also welcome and can be scheduled at mutually convenient times. Sign up to volunteer here.
Thank you for your past support, and thanks in advance for your help in making 2022's campaign our biggest ever!
